Between career responsibilities, family duties, and personal commitments, finding time for self-care may seem like a distant goal. Achieving a harmonious balance between looking great and feeling great is essential for overall well-being. 1. Prioritize Nutrition
A nutritious diet lays the foundation for beauty and wellness. As a working mother, focus on incorporating fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains into your meals. Opt for snacks that boost energy without sacrificing nutritional value. Proper nutrition not only enhances physical appearance but also elevates energy levels crucial for managing a busy schedule.

2. Get adequate sleep
Balancing work and family life often leads to busy and sometimes sleep-deprived nights. Prioritize quality sleep, aiming for seven to nine hours whenever possible. Sufficient rest not only revitalizes the body but also positively impacts skin complexion and overall well-being.
Personally, this is still a pain area for me as I am unable to get a smooth and continuous 8 hours sleep. My kid wakes up at least once or twice for milk or just for the sake of waking up, which disrupts my sleep. Also, I feel, after becoming a mother, my sleep quality has reduced. I don't go into deep sleep like I used to.

3. Be Active
Incorporate regular exercise into your routine, considering activities that align with your interests and schedule. Whether it's a quick home workout, a brisk walk during lunch breaks, or joining fitness classes, exercise contributes to maintaining a healthy weight, reducing stress, and promoting a radiant complexion.
This is so important. I did not resume exercise after my first baby and paying for it in my second pregnancy now. I have zero strength and stamina and get breathless in one flight of stairs. And not to forget, exercise releases happy hormones.

4. Reduce Stress
Working mothers often face multiple stressors. Incorporate stress-management techniques like mindfulness, deep breathing exercises, or short breaks during the day. Managing stress not only benefits mental health but also reflects positively on physical appearance.
Add to your work routine a desi husband, and then some in-laws if you are living in a joint set up, - complete recipe for disaster. Make sure to figure out your stress busters and incorporate them in your life. You will thank me some day.

5. Establish a skin care routine
A consistent skincare regimen tailored to your skin type is vital. Cleanse, moisturize, and use sunscreen daily to protect your skin from environmental factors. Adapt your routine to address specific concerns, such as signs of aging or fatigue.
If you don't get time for facials, make sure to use a cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen in your daily skin care routine. Your skin will thank you in years to come!

Just starting your day by brushing your teeth, washing your face and combing hair makes me feel completely refreshed and ready to take on the day.

8. Makeup Usage
While makeup can enhance your appearance, be mindful of its use. Opt for non-comedogenic products and allow your skin to breathe by going makeup-free on occasion.
I wear makeup everyday to work but I make sure to stay makeup free over the weekends unless I have somewhere to go. Also, ensure removing your makeup and properly cleansing your skin before going to bed.

9. Sunscreen usage
Shield your skin from UV rays by applying sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days. Consistent sun protection helps prevent premature aging and supports a healthy complexion.

I feel very calm after book reading and sometimes when I am not in the mood to read, I watch a movie or series in bed which helps me relax and unwind.

What I have learnt over my 2 years of being a mother; you can not have it all every time. You will fall behind things prioritizing another. It is okay! Life is not a race.
