I am so sorry for my long absence. December was such a critical month for doing some very interesting and lovely posts before the year end but unfortunately my phone is dead again which means I have no access to the internet other than when I am at work. Its been long that I have not done any nail post. Lazy me! So I am sharing my today's NOTD that I am wearing at work right now.

Lipsticks and lip glosses are what we usually like to buy and use on our lips. Another substitute to lipstick known as lip pencil can also be used to color the lips. Lip pencils not only are used to define the lips or to make a boundary for lipstick or lip gloss but they can also be used as a substitute of lipstick itself. Today's post is on Bourjois Khol and contour pencil.  

I have not seen this pencil being sold officially by the Bourjois counters in cosmetic shops or departmental stores however I got mine from Chanel store in Liberty Market for Rs. 900. Its a 1.14 gms pencil in Rose wine - 13. Its not a normal sized pencil rather a thick broad one for which a broader sharpener is required. It comes capped with a silver cap. 

The pencil is quite pigmented. The swatch on the left shows the true color of the pencil with a single swipe. The right swatch on the other hand is a builded one with 3 swipes of the pencil. The pencil is truly matte. 

I personally do not use the pencil without a clear lip gloss because I like glossy moisturized lips. Due to the matte nature of the pencil it lasts really long, it can easily stay up to 6 hours on the lips. With a gloss topping it, the gloss wears off after some time but the pencil stays put. I really like the lilac pink color it brings on to the lips, looks different from the normal, everyday pinks. Before applying this pencil, one needs to make sure the lips are not dry or chappy because that will highlight the flakiness over the lips and may cause trouble while applying on to the lips. So make sure your lips are moisturized and not cracked. Using a Vaseline or lip butter might help before the application of the pencil. I rate it 4.5/5 for its color, quality and staying power.

We, most of the times rely on a foundation or a pancake to do whole of the job by covering our dark spots, blemishes, uneven skin tone and whatever shortfall there is to our skin. Lets start on with the post. For the very first time, finally, I managed to get some Urban Decay products and I am really really excited to try them out. I am sharing my haul post with you to let you know what I purchased.

I am starting a new segment in my blog named as Empties. In these posts I'll be featuring the products which I have finished using in (a) particular month(s). Also some of the products may follow a short review as well just to give you an idea what my experience has been like while using those products. So lets start.

I have the issue of being unable to stick to one shampoo for long. If I am using a shampoo that suits me and I keep on using it for a few months there comes a time when my hair get bored of it and they tend to start falling or become flaky or lifeless. So I need to keep on switching my shampoos from time to time in order to maintain my hair's interest. I know this must be the weirdest thing you might have heard. But seriously my hair have a mood of their own and I now dread my hair throwing a tantrum on me :x What shampoo have I recently been using? Read more to find out.

I am back after taking an Eid break from my blog and also because I was out of city to celebrate Eid with my family. The Summers are over and Winter is here. The weather changed drastically with one rain here in Lahore. One of the gifts Winters has brought is dry skin and scalp. Hair feel so rough and dry as if all moisture has been sucked out of them. Now what to do with them? How to revive them? Read my review to find out!

Its been quite long that I have not done any What The Fudge (WTF) post, its about time that one should be done! So I have a product today that literally makes you say WTF when used.

Look at the product, it looks good enough to catch your eye. The packing is of thick cardborad with a matte finish and has the brand logo in a shiney finish whick makes you think "the packing is good enough, the product must be great too" and when the product comes in a very economical price its hard to let it go, which is exactly what happened with me.

I went to a local departmental store, they have a reasonable size cosmetics section with quite alot of variety and since its close to my house as well so its quite handy to buy everyday use products. I was on the look out for an eye liner as my current one was about to end and Femina's eye liner caught my eye along with a few others. Since eyeliner is my most craved product (I never step out without applying one) so I thought what the heck just give this one a try. What was the experience like? Read further to find out!

I am back with another OOTD and this one is a little different one from the others since this is something that has been self designed. Its not a ready to wear thing I designed it and got it stitched from my tailor. So here it is :)

I wanted this pack for like forever but just did not know how to get my hands on it. But then, thanks to Wishlist for getting me this set.

My current beauty obsession is lipsticks. I just cant seem to stop craving for more. There was a time when I did not like lipsticks at all and lip glosses were the only things I had in my collection. Its entirely different now. All I buy now is lipsticks and that too every other day.

 

2. Which is one beauty item you wished you owned?

 

 I wish to own a never ending supply of Urban Decay Cosmetics. I love their products.

 

3. What is your favorite post to read or write about?

 

I love doing haul posts. Its so fun to shop and then to share your buys with everyone. In similar manner I love reading haul posts on other blogs and see who got what and what is new and whats trendy.

 

4. What inspired you to become a blogger?

 

I was not a makeup person at all. I was more of a handbags and shoes person but then somehow through Facebook I stumbled upon Sara Hassan's Blog and Glossicious Beauty Blog and everything changed from then. I was suddenly into makeup like crazy and that craze is still on.

 

5. What nail polish are you wearing now?

This post was long due and its about time that it must be shared. Recently I got myself a new makeup remover on experimental basis as the bottle caught my eye and I found it to be sleek and stylish. Since I never step out without an eye liner and kohl on my eyes, an eye makeup remover or simply a makeup remover is a must have for me. Washing face directly causes the eye liner to spread all over the face and also it gets into the eyes, so not good for the eyes!

Can you guess what came into my mail? Ummm let me give you a hint. You can find where I ordered from the picture below ;)

I usually get super excited when something arrives in my mail that I simply don't wait to open it up whether I am at work or home. So this package arrived at my workplace and I tore it up as soon as I could. I took pictures from my mobile phone so you may find them a little low quality.

So here is what I ordered, the Colossal kajal by Maybelline. It has not yet been officially launched in Pakistan as I have been checking each Maybelline counter at almost every other store I have been to and I could not wait anymore to try it out. Seeing it available at a page I had to order it to try it out. Along with the kajal came a complimentary nail filer too which I have already featured in my pedicure routine post (read it here) .

But the most variety I saw was on a Facebook page that had quite a good reputation and the products bought or received samples had been reviewed by some other bloggers as well, all factors contributing to my decision to buy from that page. Today I am featuring an OOTD post on my blog after a very long time. I am still experimenting with my tripod and light settings to snap good quality pictures but from these pictures I can see I have a long way to go yet. So what I wore to work today is something I purchased almost two years back from Cynosure, the most economical and stylish boutique for the teens and adults alike. This design has also been a top seller since I personally have seen so many people wearing it. In fact two of my acquaintances have the same dress. So lets continue further with the post. 

Today I am going to share with you how I do my own pedicure in the comforts of my room. Some times when I am too lazy I go to salon to get my mani pedi but usually I prefer doing it myself at home. I find it more convenient and safe to do it at home. Although I wash my feet everyday, brush them and file me heels but still the effect of a detailed pedicure is totally different and more lasting. So let me share with you my pedicure routine.

Step 1 is to dip your feet in a water mixture of foot bath solution and bleaching powder for about 10 minutes.

I am using Oriflame's feet up relaxing footh bath which has an amazing lavender fragrance and makes dipping feet in water fun. The aroma of the fragrance is just so sweet. I mix Keune bleaching and streaking powder in the water mixture as well. This bleaching powder helps remove the blackness and dirt residue on the feet making them white and clean. It acts as a bleaching agent for the feet. Use one cap of the oriflame relaxing bath and one cap of the bleaching powder in water.

Soaking your feet for about 10 minutes in the water will make the skin soft hence making it easy to remove the dead skin. Step 2 is to remove the dead skin from the heels and toes with the help of a foot filer and using a soft brush to scrub off the dirt from the feet. Thoroughly clean your feet with brush and the filer.

Step 3 is to scrub and exfoliate your feet. Use a small amount of scrub for each foot and massage the scrub well. It will exfoliate the feet and make them all clean and pretty. Oriflame exfoliating foot scrub is so far the best scrub I have tried on my feet. It has beady crystals which are course and make the exfoliation process really worth it. Moreover the best part about this scrub is that it lathers which means it reduces the friction between the skin and scrub making the exfoliation process smooth and convenient. I could already see a visible difference in my feet after exfoliation only.

Next wash your feet thoroughly with water to remove any traces of the scrub. Towel dry feet and proceed to step 4 which is removing the cuticles. Push the dead skin towards the nail end with the help of a cuticle pusher and remove it by using the cuticle remover. Uptill step 4 it took me 20 minutes to be done with all these steps.

Since water makes the nails soft, it makes it very convenient for me to cut and file my nails. So I usually cut and file them after exfoliation and cuticle removing process.

Step 4 is to cut, shape and file your nails. I had square shaped nails before and this time I shaped them into round so it took me about 15 minutes to cut, shape and file them. The most tedious of all tasks I would say.

In step 5, I massaged my feet with Oriflame's soothing, cooling and anti perspirant creams. These creams are not meant for massage purposes so they get absorbed into the skin real quick. What I do is, I moisten my hands with water and rub the creams over the feet. With wet hands, the cream takes longer time to get totally absorbed. I masage each foot for about 3 minutes with each cream. Then I thoroughly wash my feet with water and towel dry them. Make sure you dry them well between the fingers and around the nails.

Lastly in step 6, I buffer my nails with a nail buffer to give them the ultimate shine and clean effect.


I forgot to take the picture, I sprayed my feet with Oriflame's feet up reviving foot spray as well to give a fresh nice fragrant effect. Tadaaaa! say hello to my clean and pretty feet. This pedicure lasts me for about a month and after a month I repeat the same process.
