If you are a skin care conscious person, no matter what age you belong to, then you surely must have heard of two brands; The Body Shop and Lush. Both these brands are known for their eco friendly and chemical free skin care products. When I first found out about Mana Beauty & Spirit, my first impression was - "Oh, our very own Lush". Two years into using their products, I have no such impression left. Mana has their own brand vision and they are surely not copying Lush. Yes, the theme does look along the lines of Lush but it has its own league. I have used quite a lot of products from their range and today I shall be reviewing their body scrub. 

MANA is a well researched product line based on Cosmetic Science and Aromatherapy. They are firm believers in the power of essential oils, living essence of plants, natural Vitamins and Antioxidants. They only use active ingredients to give power and life to their products.

"Infused with Sea Salts, Oats and Lime Juice, let our AWAKEN BODY SCRUB cleanse away the week. With rich, silky Avocado butter, Jasmine tea, Coffee, Fresh Grapefruit, Coconut oil and Seaweed help to smoothen and condition your skin leaving you refreshed, inside out. Sea salt, rich in minerals is excellent for scrubbing away any dead skin. Coconut, grapefruit and Lime brighten up the skin and work with essential oils such as Geranium and Lavender to leave you relaxed and rejuvenated."

Packaging: 

Mana Beauty awaken body scrub comes in a 200 gms plastic tub or jar with a twist cap. The jar is fresh green colored and can be used afterwards to store tid bids once the product finishes. The jar is made of sturdy plastic so you don't have to worry about it breaking or leaking.

Texture: 

Texture of the scrub is wet sand like. Its not oily like Orglow scrub neither harsh like it. Its a smooth scrub with a sandy goo like feel. Its also not creamy or soapy like most commercial scrubs. The mashed ingredients can clearly be seen in the jar. 

Ingredients: 

Fine Sea Salt ,Fresh Grapefruit Infusion, Fresh organic Lime , Green Tea extract, Oats, Shea butter , Coconut oil ,Avocado oil, Almond oil , Grapeseed oil , Apricot Kernel oil, and Essential Oils ( Lavender , Orange , Lemon, Tea tree, Cardimom extract, Star seed, Geranium, Rose)

Usage instructions: 

Apply to dry or wet skin for a cleansing first time scrub and rub all over in a circular motion. For a more gentle buff, use on damp skin. Rinse with water. 

My Experience: 

Talking about my experience, firstly I like the subtle fragrance of the scrub. Its lightly present, easy to sniff but not over powering. The fragrance also lingers onto the skin for about 2 hours. I won't say its long lasting. Secondly, I like the texture of the scrub. Its not harsh at all. Its rather goo like with mashed particles like oats, sea salt which act as scrubbing agents. I have made scrubbing my skin a regular skin. I try to opt for it at least once a weak. I believe scrubbing helps the skin get rid of dead skin, dead skin cells, dirt, grime and provides god exfoliation leaving the skin soft, smooth and supple. 

Working with this scrub is not easy. In my opinion the scrub is relatively dry. To use the scrub make sure your skin is wet. Take a handful of scrub and start rubbing it off your skin. Since the scrub has a goo like wet sandy texture it takes while to spread it over the skin. I have also experienced fall outs on the floor every time. As much as I love the scrub working it makes it a difficulty to use and slightly off putting. However I love the effect afterwards. 

The body scrub leaves my skin looking brighter and shiny. I feel thoroughly clean after using this scrub. Knowing that I have used something organic and free of chemicals amplifies the feeling of contentment. The scrub comes infused with oils which make my skin super smooth. I have also experienced a firmness in my skin after using scrubs. This scrub also makes the skin firm and supple. Scrub gets really important in Winters to remove excess dryness and flakiness but I have made it a routine to do it in Summers as well once a week to hydrate and clean my skin.
