Wet n Wild limited edition Rebel Rose creme blush in Rose in Peace

Claims:

Here is what Wet n Wild has to say about its product:

Play into your dark and twisted beauty fantasies with the color-shifting Limited Edition Rebel Rose Color Icon Creme Blush. This subtly rose-scented, black, cream blush formula instantly transforms right before your eyes into a flushed berry-tone when applied to the cheek. It’s infusion of a blend of natural butters and oils provides a creamy texture allowing it to blend smoothly onto the skin. A little goes a long way with this buildable and pigment-rich formula.

A black creme blush that transforms to a flushed berry color on the cheek with pH-activated ingredients that adjust to each person for a unique custom color.

A blend of Murumura Seed Butter, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Sunflower Seed Oil, Virgin Passion Fruit, and Argan Oil gives formula its creamy texture that allow it to blend smoothly on the skin.

The infusion of Rosa Damascena Flower Extract provides moisture to skin, as well as a subtle rose scent.

Packaging:

The blush comes in a light weight, cheap looking square shaped plastic pan with a transparent lid. The packaging is so low quality that the clasp doesn't even click. Also the pan isn't deep. Its merely a thin layer of product splatted onto the pan.

Texture:

As the name of the product suggests, its a cream blush. It has an emollient like texture which upon application turns a bit creamy and sets on to the skin perfectly. Despite its cream like texture, it doesn't budge from the skin and doesn't move around the skin, it stays where applied for extensive hours.

The product has fine chunks of glitter visible in the pictures but upon application, the finely milled glitter blends beautifully on the skin.

Swatches

My Thoughts:

This blush came in a limited edition set. Other items included in this set are rose shaped blush brush, eye shadow quad and a lip gloss. The most intriguing item from this set for me is this blush and the brush it came along with. I have never used a color changing blush before. Off course, color changing lip colors are very common and easily available but this dark, goth collection looked very appealing to me.

The product takes time getting used to. I always suggest to use blushes in small quantities and slowly build them up. If you use too much at the start, its highly likely that you may end up looking like a clown with two circles on the apples of your cheeks. Similarly with this product, its a bit of hit and miss at first. Initially when you apply the blush, the color doesn't show up immediately, which makes you apply more product. Once it settles onto the skin and changes color as per pH, you end up having extra product on your cheeks. So after being asked if I'd got skin allergies or mistakenly applied extra blush, I finally got the hang of it. I now apply a very little quantity, I tap it onto my cheeks and then move the blush in soft circles to blend it evenly onto the skin. It takes around 30 to 45 seconds to show up. If I need more product, I apply a second layer and repeat the same process.

Talking about the product itself, it appears black in the pan with hints of gold colored glitter chunks. Upon swatching, there is a purplish black texture with hints of pink in the base. When blended, it initially starts off as mulberry color and finally settles into a sheer pink color when blended correctly.

The texture of the product as I mentioned earlier is like a cream. It shall feel like a cream blush on your skin upon contact as well. However the exceptional thing about this blush is, it doesn't budge at all. Once it has completely blended into the skin, it stays put. No matter, how much you sweat, or swim in water, it wont slide or move. It will off course lose some color over time, however it wont completely come off. The color pay off is like that of a tint and I also experienced it leaving color on the skin if I don't cleanse my face well enough. For me this is the winning point of this product.

The downside is the packaging and the quantity. The packaging is really cheap and I would worry about the lid opening up in my bag as the clasp is really poor quality. Also the quantity is literally just a single layer of cream settled evenly onto the pan. But maybe for the price, it serves well.

This blush definitely a fun product and if you enjoy makeup, I suggest you give this one a go albeit its drugstore but a lot of fun.
