The catch about beauty blogging is that sometimes you get sucked in to the frenzy which surrounds a particular product and when you realize the truth, its too late by then. Although I am a big fan of NYX cosmetics and I love their product range as it offers great variety at affordable rates, but some products are simply dud and we have to live with the fact. Same is the case with NYX xtreme lip creams. To read more about my experience scroll down. 

There are NYX lip glosses, matte lip creams, extreme shine lip creams and xtreme lip creams. Too many lip products which makes it hard to differentiate one from the other. The ones I am reviewing today are Xtreme Lip creams. These are available in 11 different bright shades with a semi glossy finish. 

Packaging:

Nyx xtreme lip creams come in 0.23 oz plastic tube with a slanted sponge applicator. The applicator is smooth and soft, and picks up quite a lot of product. Applying color on the lips is quite easy with the applicator. I like the quality of the sponge as it is not harsh on the lips.  The plastic tube itself is quite sturdy.

Pigmentation: 

The pigmentation of these lip creams is simply great. They are saturated with colors and give a bright bold appearance upon application. The color pay off is excellent. 

Texture:

The texture of lip creams is creamy, thick and gooey. Application requires carefulness, too much product may result in fall out around the lips. Too much product may also feel sticky over the lips the lips as the lip creams have a condensed formulation. 

Buttery nude is a bright warm peach brown shade which can be used on daily basis. The good thing about this color is, it suits our desi skin tones. The formulation of this color is better than nude peach fuzz, as it glides on smoothly on the lips and blends easily over the lips. 

Nude Peach Fuzz in tube looks like a nice nude warm pink shade but upon application it appeared to be completely different. It appears as bright peach pink with pink as the undertone and minor hues of peach. I do not think it would compliment medium skin tones like our desi skins. It kind of washes out my face. The worst part is the formulation of this lip cream. It settles in between the fine lip lines and accumulates there enhancing the lip lines. Furthermore it feels as if its just lying on top of the lips and does not blend with the lips. 

Nyx xtreme lip creams are neither lip glosses nor lipsticks. They are more like liquid lipsticks or melted lipsticks. The color pigmentation is far greater than a lip gloss. As for the staying power, it definitely is better than an average lip gloss but not far from it either. It stays good for a maximum of 2 hours after which it starts to fade in a horrible way. It disappears on the lips and stays put between the fine lip lines. Also I feel it dries out the lips although the formulation is not dry as it leaves a semi glossy finish over the lips. It transfers easily to surfaces when drinking or eating. I am also not a great fan of its smell. The smell is very light but not attractive at all.

Unfortunately NYX is not officially available in Pakistan but many Facebook stores stock it and you can order from them online. The product will definitely cost you more than $6. 

Final verdict:

Although xtreme lip creams have some very nice bright bold shades but I did not like the color formulation of this range, the way it settles between the lip lines. It maybe possible, the shades I received are so but I doubt that is the case. I won't be buying xtreme lip creams by Nyx again.
