We, most of the times rely on a foundation or a pancake to do whole of the job by covering our dark spots, blemishes, uneven skin tone and whatever shortfall there is to our skin. But isn't it too much to ask from a single product? How about making the job slightly easier for the foundation? How??? Read further to find out your answer.

I remember there was a time when the term "Primer" was unheard of in the makeup world. It is a recent happening of few years that primers have boomed in to the makeup planet and now you find primers for almost everything be it your face, your eyes or even your lips. Why use a primer? Well, I say why not, lend some hand to your foundation by making its job easier. Primer preps your face for foundation application by smoothing up the skin, providing it an even surface or you can say a cover over your skin for foundation application and helps in bringing out the actual foundation effect. 

I have been using Giorgio Armani Maestro Pure stay foundation under my foundation for some time now. Although the name says its a foundation but actually its a primer. It comes in a matte glass bottle with a pump spray. One pump is enough to cover the entire face. The quantity is 50 gms, which means, one pump spray usage for a 50 gms bottle will last you a real long time. 

The primer is thick in consistency. The consistency is exactly like an ice cream pouring out of a machine. Its a very very light lilac shade primer and has a light scent to it as well which is almost unnoticeable but it is not bad at all. In fact, it reminds me of Care honey lotion. 

The picture above has been taken after the primer has been blended well into the skin. Although the camera does not capture the fairly noticeable difference but still it can be spotted that before and after pictures have clear difference in the skin tones. The skin color looks fairer, spots look considerably reduced and skin appears to be smoother. It completely absorbs into the skin within a minute and is not oily or greasy at all. Please bear in mind that it is not a concealer rather a primer, it will not conceal any marks or spots, it will just even out the skin allowing a smoother application for the foundation. Here I would also like to mention that it is not an original product but a replica. Some people may not be comfortable with the idea of using fakes or replicas but that is a personal choice. I rate this product a 4/5. I purchased this from a local cosmetics store in Barkat Market for Rs. 900. The only shortfall I feel in this product is the non availability of shades for different skin tones. The above shade is suitable for light and fair skin tones but will not suit darker skin tones at all.
